“Volunteers are as cherished and integral to our company as they are to the patient’s that they serve. Find your place with us through the various volunteer positions that we offer for our patients and their families.”

Quote: The Best Way To Find Yourself Is To Lose Yourself In The Service Of Others” – Mahatma Gandhi

What Kind of Services Can Volunteers Offer?

1.Patient and Family Services:

Patient and Family service volunteers bring light and joy to patients and their families by visiting them in their homes or in care facilities. Volunteers provide companionship, caregiver relief and joy by ‘just being there’ for patients and their families

2.Administrative Volunteers

Do you have experience in the office or would like to build on your administrative knowledge? This is a great opportunity for all those who want to help in hospice, but would like support in a less-direct way. Administrative volunteers essential in day-to-day activities!

3.Veteran to Veteran Program

As Level Three Partners with the We Honor Veterans program we are proud to provide our Veteran-to-Veteran Program. This program aims to pair recruited Veteran Volunteers with hospice patients who have been identified as Veterans. Once paired with hospice patients who also have military experience, Veteran Volunteers have the unique ability to relate and connect with each patient thereby creating an environment where life review and healing may occur.

4.Licensed Professional Services

Certified and/or licensed complementary care practitioners can use their skills to nurture the physical and emotional well-being of patients.

  1. Hair Stylists
  2. Massage Therapists
  3. Seamstresses
  4. Pet Therapists
  5. Music Therapists
  6. Nail Technicians

5.Event Planning and Community Relations

As active members of the community, we are in constant communication with partners within our community. This allows us to expand our services and provide health education and services to those in need.

What Do Others Have to Say About Volunteering?

“There are not enough words to express the deep appreciation a patient projects, especially when they receive a loving hug, or how meaningful it has been for family and caregivers as they witness a countenance of peace in their loved one’s final breaths. One particular instance particularly stands out among my experiences. The gentleman was in agony, pulling at his clothing and skin until the music began then within a few minutes the features on his face were transformed and his wife was able to stop crying then smiled. He became completely calm and passed peacefully.” – BJP, Music Therapist

“If I were to describe my experiences at 24/7 CAH Hospice, it would be pleasant, warm, and sweet. With no prior experience working in the office or with patients, I was still able to use my customer service, observation, and computer skills to thrive in the environment. There were enough tasks for everyone, and I was able to be busy throughout the day. When I had a question or concern, help was only an e-mail away. I enjoyed my time socializing with other volunteers and employees, and we are all a team working together with the same mindset. From my stay at 24/7 CAH Hospice, I was able to evaluate myself and discover my strengths, weaknesses, and my passion. I give my appreciation and thanks to the staff for providing a friendly work environment and treating me like a guest in their home.” –Louis, Dual Service Volunteer – Patient & Family Services & Administrative Support

“It has been an honor to be a part of such a wonderful team since 2017. When I first started, I was not sure on what to expect working in a hospice office. As a volunteer, I have assisted with many trainings/orientations to prepare new incoming volunteers to our program. Being able to educate others on the hospice philosophy and the benefits has been a very humbling experience. This opportunity has definitely challenged my abilities but enhanced my interpersonal and public speaking skills. 24/7 CAH has allowed me to share my knowledge and make a meaningful impact on many individuals.” – Linda, Administrative Volunteer recognized as a Top 5 Volunteer by Senator Janet Nguyen
