Home Health Care in Brea, CA
Brea families often tell us the hardest part of a hospital discharge isn’t the medicine list. It’s the house. The tub with the high edge, the step down into the family room, the hallway rug that never mattered before. When someone is recovering from a fall, a joint replacement or a long illness, the home itself needs a second look. Our nurses and therapists help with exactly that, alongside the skilled care your doctor orders.
We’re 24/7 Care at Home, a Vietnamese family-owned home health agency. Our office is in Westminster and we have served families across Orange County since 2007, including homes from Olinda Village down to the streets around Downtown Brea and Birch Street.

Where Brea patients are coming home from
Brea has no hospital of its own, so most of our Brea patients come home after a stay at Providence St. Jude Medical Center in neighboring Fullerton, or at Kaiser Permanente’s Anaheim Medical Center on East La Palma Avenue. We name them only as places families return from. We aren’t affiliated with either hospital.
A room-by-room look at safety
On an early visit, a physical or occupational therapist usually walks through the home with you. Typical things we look at:
- Bathroom. Is there something solid to hold when stepping out of the shower? Would a raised toilet seat or a shower chair help?
- Bedroom. Can your loved one get in and out of bed without pulling on furniture? Is there a clear, lit path to the bathroom at night?
- Kitchen and living room. Are everyday things within reach, or does someone keep climbing on a step stool?
- Entrances. How many steps are there, and is there a rail?
The therapist then teaches the safest way to move through each room, and shows family members how to help without hurting their own backs.
Paying for equipment
Medicare’s home health benefit is generous on services and stricter on equipment. If you qualify for home health, you pay nothing for the covered visits. Durable medical equipment such as a walker or wheelchair works differently: after you meet the Part B deductible, you usually pay 20% of the Medicare-approved amount. The agency should tell you in advance, verbally and in writing, if something won’t be covered. (medicare.gov)
Brea residents have a local option worth knowing. The Brea Senior Center on Sievers Avenue runs a free Mobility Equipment Lending program for residents 60 and older, with items like walkers, canes, wheelchairs, raised toilet seats, commodes and grab bars. Most of it is donated and gently used, and it can bridge the gap while you sort out what you need long term. The same center offers a lunch program, transportation and free Medicare counseling by appointment. (cityofbrea.gov)
