Home Health Care in La Habra, CA
La Habra sits right on the Orange County line, which shapes how people get care. A La Habra resident might have surgery at Providence St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, or be admitted just across the border in Whittier, at PIH Health Whittier Hospital or Whittier Hospital Medical Center. Either way, they come home to La Habra, and the healing continues there.
We’re 24/7 Care at Home, a Vietnamese family-owned home health agency. Our office is in Westminster, and since 2007 we’ve served families across Orange County, including La Habra neighborhoods off La Habra Boulevard, Imperial Highway and Beach Boulevard.
Skilled nursing, in plain terms
A lot of what our nurses do in La Habra homes involves wounds and medicines. Medicare’s examples of covered skilled nursing include:
- Wound care for pressure sores or a surgical wound, including checking for early signs of infection;
- Injections and intravenous or nutrition therapy when ordered;
- Monitoring a serious illness or an unstable health condition;
- Teaching the patient and family what to do between visits.
The care is part-time or intermittent, not a nurse moving in. The number of visits follows what your doctor orders. (medicare.gov)
Getting started when the hospital is in another county
Families sometimes worry that a hospital in Los Angeles County won’t “connect” with an Orange County agency. It does. Ask the discharge planner to send the referral to the agency you choose. Medicare says the ordering provider should give you a list of agencies that serve your area, and must tell you if their organization has a financial interest in any of them. Our team then contacts you to set up the first visit and talks with your doctor about the care plan.
Costs
If you qualify, you pay nothing for covered home health services under Original Medicare. Supplies like wound dressings used in your care are part of the benefit; separate medical equipment can carry a 20% share after the Part B deductible. If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, we’ll check its rules with you first.
La Habra resources
The La Habra Community Center on La Habra Boulevard is the city’s hub for older adults. The county’s 2026 senior center list says it offers transportation, information and referral, and a lunch café. Once your loved one is up and about, it’s a short trip for a meal and some company.
