Home Health Care in Santa Ana, CA

Money questions come up early, and they deserve straight answers. When a Santa Ana family calls us about a parent coming home from the hospital, the second question, right after “can you help?”, is usually “what will this cost us?” Here’s how Medicare explains it, without the fine print.

24/7 Care at Home is a Vietnamese family-owned home health agency. We’ve been caring for Orange County families since 2007 from our office in Westminster, and our nurses and therapists work all over Santa Ana, from downtown and the historic Floral Park and French Park neighborhoods to the west-side streets that run toward Little Saigon.

What you pay under Original Medicare

  • Covered home health services: $0. If you qualify, you pay nothing for the nursing, therapy, medical social services and aide visits Medicare covers.
  • Durable medical equipment: usually 20%. After the Part B deductible, you pay 20% of the Medicare-approved amount for covered equipment, such as a walker.
  • Things Medicare doesn’t cover, like 24-hour care, meal delivery, or housekeeping unrelated to your care plan, are paid privately if you choose to arrange them.

The notice you might be handed

Before care starts, the agency should tell you how much Medicare will pay. If an item or service won’t be covered, the agency should tell you out loud and in writing and how much you’d owe. The form for this is called an Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN). It’s not a bill. It’s a heads-up so you can decide before anything is provided. (medicare.gov)

If you’re in a Medicare Advantage plan, the rules come from your plan, and we’ll check them with you.

Free help in Santa Ana

The Orange County Office on Aging is based in Santa Ana and can connect families with programs across the county. For Medicare questions specifically, HICAP offers free, unbiased counseling at several senior centers in the county.

Santa Ana also has two city-run senior centers: the Santa Ana Senior Center downtown on West Third Street and the Southwest Senior Center. The county’s 2026 list notes transportation and a lunch café at both. A familiar lunch spot can be a good goal once a parent is back on their feet.

Hospitals our Santa Ana patients come home from

Orange County Global Medical Center on North Tustin Avenue and Coastal Communities Hospital on South Bristol Street are both in Santa Ana. Many residents are also discharged from UCI Health – Orange, just across the city line. We name them only as places families come home from. We’re an independent agency.
